Starting from where i left off, Stephan is in the big stadium with all the youths. In comes the horse they have been waiting for and immediatly it is being labled as a monster; "Thats no horse, I tell you. Thats a monster!" (10). The contest for who can mount it begins. Since everyone wants to prove they can do it, they pick randomly. Three nobodys go and get thrown off. Just when the horse is about to become "unmountable," Alexander steps up to the plate. He strips down and get ready, even after his advisers advise otherwise. So naked Alexander gets behind the horse and starts his attempt. The horse starts running with Alex aside. Alex jumps up and mounts the horse. The horse does everything to kick it off and even rides out of the stadium. All the youths ponder whether he would come back or if hes injured. But sure enough, Alex comes back, with the tamed horse.

I think that the horse will have nothing to do with the story. The purpose of the chapter was to gain credibility for Alex, as a hero and a strong person. I think this will only fuel Stephan's love for Alex.

Blog 1 for book

In the beggining, we meet the main character, Stephan, a 10 year old boy eager to be a wrestler. You also meet Alka, a little girl who is friends with Stephan more than hes friends with her. Stephan describes the time he went to his birth place and how all the houses were small and close. He compares it to Pella, where he is now. When he enters the stadium he sees his dad, a physician, the king, and other men. Then come the youths, and in them is Alexander. He is 5 years older than Stephan but that doesnt stop his dream from being to be able to fight along with Alexander. He talks much about how he loves Alexander and how he was able to share the same milk when they were younger.

chapter 9.

Way too long for regular english student to handle, but i did the reading. Dede is the narrator and in the beggining is like the 90's. Her niece comes, they go to Fala's. Back in time... Her sisters pressure her to join the revolution. She obeys Jaimito at first but then gives in. Jaimito takes the kids. She joins it kinda. Patriaand minerva get arrested, dede is scurred.
